Strategic Insight

"Accountability is easy. It's two words — I'm sorry — and it stops a lot of bleeding."

What We Learned

Reputation management works best as a preventative strategy, not a crisis response. Small businesses carry a smaller margin for error than they think — the small, trivial interactions (a bad review, a slow response, a broken promise) reveal the trajectory of the whole relationship long before a real crisis hits. Waiting to react costs far more than getting ahead of it.

Notable Observation

Nate draws a sharp distinction between customers and "brand champions" — the difference isn't loyalty, it's whether someone will actively talk and fight for the brand in rooms the business owner isn't in.

Why We Invited

I invited Nate because he treats reputation as a genuinely preventative growth strategy rather than a fire-extinguisher function, and brings concrete, repeatable habits around accountability and customer response instead of vague "just be authentic" advice.
