he History of the word NEGASH originates In Ethiopian territory in Africa. It is the name of a village in the Tigray Region. NEGASH is known as the earliest Muslim settlement in Africa. Ethiopian Muslims consider NEGASH the most important site of worship after Mecca. NEGASH has been a place of great historical and religious significance in a sense that it is a symbol of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians. Besides being the name of a village, the name NEGASH also carries the meaning “he is bound to be king” or “he is next in line for the throne”.
